SCULPTURE (NEON)

SCULPTURE (NEON)

Illuminate a word in neon and you've created a sensual object. I associate them with the two-lane backroads of my childhood where the neon signs of taverns were the only thing to break the darkness.

Each of these wallworks is a kind of map, offering the names of small towns and their GPS coordinates, placed more or less correctly in relation to one another. The largest of these (THE UNITED STATES OF NOTHING) uses a driver to create spare, glowing sets of words, briefly sparking to life before lapsing again into darkness.
